Choose a camera bag, pouch or strap that fits
- Carrying and protecting
Start with the camera you actually carry and the few items you need with it. A larger bag or more elaborate strap is not automatically a better choice.
Measure the complete object
- Measure width, height and depth with the lens, protruding controls and any case attached.
- Record whether a strap or other accessory must remain attached inside the bag.
- Compare usable interior dimensions, not only the bag's outside measurements.
- Check the opening and closure: an object may fit the cavity but not pass through its opening easily.
- Allow for any divider or padding that reduces available space.

A paper or cardboard envelope can help visualize dimensions, but it is not a protection, comfort or durability test. We have not physically fit-tested every camera-and-bag pairing.
Straps are attachment-specific
Check the camera's attachment points, the strap connector, length, maker's load guidance and any required hardware. A phone strap, bag strap and camera strap are not interchangeable merely because they look similar. Do not clip a strap to a control, zipper pull or opening not intended to carry the camera.
Do not infer protection
A pouch may organize an item without providing tested impact, water or X-ray protection. A rain cover applies only to the supported product and stated conditions. Look for the precise documented claim, and keep it separate from an untested physical pairing.
