How we check product information

  • Choosing a camera

We separate a manufacturer's published information from a test performed by our shop. That distinction lets you understand what a product page establishes and what remains unknown.

Manufacturer-documented

A statement is documented when it can be tied to the exact maker's product page or instructions and a checked date. We check model, revision, options, dimensions, inclusions and stated limits. A manufacturer claim is not our independent performance measurement.

Physical inspection and testing

A hands-on check requires the actual item and a record of what was done. Relevant records include the model/revision, date, conditions, tools and result. We have not completed a shop physical test of the current Long Weekend range, so we do not label those products independently tested.

Three different kinds of images

  • Product media: shows the object, such as a camera body, bag or strap.
  • Camera-output samples: photographs made with an identified camera, with shooting, film/mode, editing and source context.
  • Editorial artwork: illustrations or generated compositions used for visual identity and ideas. These do not demonstrate optical quality, product fit or customer experience.

What a future camera comparison must include

Comparable scenes and lighting; exact settings or documented fixed controls; film and development/scanning context where relevant; ordinary and failed frames; original-file access where rights allow; and a clear description of editing. We will not create a performance ranking from unrelated promotional photographs.

Fit and protection claims

Exterior bag dimensions do not establish usable interior space. A named product pairing, physical fit, padding performance, water resistance and X-ray protection are separate claims. We retain documented limits and do not infer protection from the word “camera bag.”

Corrections

If you find a mismatch, send us the product link and specific detail. Include the exact variant or revision where possible. We can review the source without requiring you to submit personal photographs or order information publicly.
